Hi Pastor Gerald, Just checking in..I was saved in this lovely little church about 21 years ago, shortly before retiring from the Air Force. Both of my little boys were in the daycare in those days, which was what first attracted me to the church (what a wonderful ministry!)God is so good. They are all grown and married now! My oldest son, Jeff, teaches Sunday School and works with our Youth. I have been teaching Children's Sunday School for about 14 years and working in about every children's ministry in my church!! How I love it! Just think, we all got our start at Teri Road! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me such a wonderful start on my life as a servant of Christ! God Bless You!

Dear loving brother Teri Road Baptist Church and all in Christ, Greetings to you in the most holy name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who has kept us alive and in good health in the face of the severe cyclone i.e., storms and fast spreading infectious diseases, more particularly Chicken Guinea which is causing devastation to thousands of men, women and children. Why I am mentioning all this is because of the severe floods that affected almost the whole of Andhra Pradesh. The damage is estimated above several thousands of crores of Rupees. The loss of lives was unimaginable because no survey could clearly estimate the number of deaths, number of casualties, number of homeless people and number of orphans. The Government, on its part, is trying to move earth and heaven to help the affected places, fields and people. But as you are aware, red tapism comes in the way and the actual victims may not receive their proper share. As children of God, we were alarmed when the cyclone started. The indications were that it would turn to be devastating. Already media gave wide publicity to the impending danger and requested people to go to safe places for shelter. But the depression in the Bay of Bengal which turned to be a severe cyclone caused havoc. We remember the floods which ruined the delta areas of the river Krishna in 1977, we also remember the floods that ruined the public life in 1986; and the floods of 2009 exceed all others in destruction to property and people. Banks of reservoirs, ponds and rivers were washed away and waters gushed forth going even upto a height of 20 feet damaging not only houses and crops but fruit of tall trees like the coconut. This caused short circuit of electricity and power supply could not be resumed for at least a week or ten days. Not only the river Krishna, but other rivers like the Godavari received heavy water from uplands and even now water is flowing above the danger line in some areas. The whereabouts of many people were not known Fresh cases of orphans came up and there is no one to care for them. We, from our side, immediately rushed to the spot carrying food supplies, medicines and clothes. We were not able to muster all the help that was needed. We spared what all we could. We were not worried even when we had to go without food ourselves to help the people who were in need. Our hearts burst with compassion and we felt compelled to do more. So now we are constrained to come to you for help. We shall be grateful if you can come here personally and observe the grave situation caused not only by the floods but by the infectious diseases like malaria, Cholera and other ailments. Then you will have a clear idea of the need and plan to come to their rescue. Your heart also will burst when you see the devastation caused here and the still inundated houses, young and old waiting with open hands seeking your mercy and the dimension of the loss caused. When we went there to help them, they eagerly came forward to receive the food packets and clothes. How wonderful it was to look into their happy faces as they received our help ! We extended help to all of them irrespective of caste, creed and class. We are enclosing Photographs of our activities there, so that you may have a clear idea of the need. We humbly request you to come forward to help the flood affected people, most of whom lost either one or both of the parents, people who lost their husbands or wives and people who lost their children. All this is in addition to the loss of houses and crops. All this came upon us even before people could revive themselves from the ill effects of the Tsunami which hit the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh in December, 2004. Please inform this to other churches and individuals also and ask them to announce this in their churches and seek help. If you wish to have any further details, please feel free to ask us, and we shall only be too happy to furnish them. SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST: Rehabilitation items for the victims of the severe floods an urgently needed - used clothes, bed sheets, woollen blankets, food products and medicines - Bibles (in the local language) and parts of the Bible. Any help you may extend, will be gratefully received and we are sure God would bless you for this kind act you do in His name, to one of the least of His brothers or sisters. More important is your prayer for the flood affected people and their rehabilitation in the name of the Lord God Almighty.
